Frequently asked questions
Is there a notification feature?
Not yet for the general public. The single-operator build runs push notifications via ntfy.sh. When the desktop app opens to public signups, in-app notifications ship alongside it. We will announce that on the About page.
How often does PokeDrop check stock?
Stock observations refresh throughout the day on a conservative polling cadence per retailer. Every check is recorded so the desktop app’s per-product timeline shows when each product was purchasable in the last 30 days. We deliberately under-poll rather than risk getting any of our customers’ sessions flagged.
Why isn’t my retailer on the list?
Each retailer requires its own monitor and bot-protection workaround that respects that retailer’s terms. We expand the roster carefully rather than scraping aggressively. If a retailer isn’t here, it’s because we haven’t shipped a stable monitor for it yet.
Do you handle purchases for me?
The desktop app can add to cart and walk through checkout using the payment methods you have already saved with each retailer. Purchases run on your machine and from your IP. We never see your card or your retailer account credentials, and we do not store payment information on our servers.
Do you solve CAPTCHAs or skip the queue?
No. If a retailer presents a CAPTCHA or a virtual waiting room, the desktop app hands control back to you. We do not subscribe to CAPTCHA solving services and we do not bypass queues.
How do I report a problem with a listing?
A contact channel will be published on the About page once we open up to public signups.
